The Campaign Office

‘The Campaign Office’ is a 2D point-and-click simulation game. The game was programmed in Unity, its sprites were made in Figma, and its music and sounds are made in FL Studio 20. It takes place in a campaign office of a political party during the final day of the campaign and the player is a young person who visits the office for the first time. They can click on the people in the room to talk to them and click on various objects of interest to examine them. There are some people just hanging out, various political office workers, and a group of people passionately discussing the topic of why young people tend to not vote and what can be done to address it. After interacting with some items, the player can then ask the office workers what those items are for. Additionally, each of the office worker describe their role in a political office and the player can learn both how the electoral process work and what volunteering entails. The objective of this game is to express to the player the creator’s positive personal experience both volunteering at a campaign office and attending other political events. Also, the opinions expressed by the characters were based on real opinions of people interviewed by the creator. By presenting this virtual experience, the creator hopes to convince players to give real life political involvement a try, and to hopefully be interested to staying involved in the future.
