Web Accessibility

This project is a simulator that enables everyone to discover the experience of users with disabilities on the web. More specifically, this website can simulate different levels of colour blindness, full blindness, and motor difficulties (disables the mouse). Participants can therefore try out one or many of these disabilities and compare their “regular” experience to the one of disabled users. Two pages are available to explore. The first page contains several common web components that are simple to use for able users, but challenging for disabled users, especially if they are not built properly. The second page is a “regular” web page, with a header, menu, content, sidebar, footer, and some fake content. This page demonstrates how much the context matters for blind users, who cannot visualize the entire website at once.
